This past weekend, Lonesome Whippoorwills were the opening act at Eastgate Cafe on a bill of music featuring the music of Lonesome Whipp friend and honorary member, Charles Torpe. Charles, thanks so much for allowing us to be part of this fun evening as brought to us by New Kaleidoscope Productions. Eastgate Cafe, nestled in the Oak Park arts district, turned out to be a delightful place to play. We hope to play there again soon. Also, special thanks to the the staff at Eastgate Cafe for allowing us this opportunity and for the delicious sandwiches and drinks! After our hour long opening set, we were treated to the music of Thelonious MacGillycuddy (world fusion and original music from Charles Torpe)
http://www.myspace.com/ctorpe followed by Scattin' In Tongues (classic rock, blues, and soul) with members from Ring Shout.
On Sunday, LW played a set of music at Mather Pavilion in Evanston. We always love coming to Mather every month to see the wonderful people (residents, volunteers, and staff). Even with a missing guitar strap, we were able to make it all work. Thanks again Carrie for all you do at Mather!
