Lonesome Whippoorwills played a set this past Saturday night at Horseshoe in Lincoln Park. Like the Chicago Bulls, our roster was down a few players, but we put together our best, gutsy effort as a guitar and fiddle trio. We really had a great time playing on the bill with the Wild Onion String Band. Special thanks to Bill from the Wild Onions for giving us this great opportunity to play. Also, we really enjoyed hearing you guys play before us! We hope to play again at Horseshoe. One of the highlights for me was the post gig pulled pork sandwich and fries deal from the kitchen for only $5. Great deal and very tasty! Also, thanks again to all of Paul's family and friends who came out to see us on Saturday. We greatly appreciated your support!
Later this week on Saturday, May 18th, the fun continues as the Whipps will be playing at the "What's Blooming on Harrison?" Festival in Oak Park. We are slated to play on stage at 11:00am (rain or shine). If the weather cooperates, it could be a great opportunity to come out with your family, kids, pets, and friends to hear some old country music all before noon! We hope to see you in Oak Park on Saturday.
